Weekly Reminders

It's Area & Region audition week!! Do you know your music?

We will be working on music during class as well as after school on Tuesday for 9/10 and on Thursday for Area. Let us know if you would like to work other times or during advocate period.

A sheet with reminders for Saturday's auditions is posted in the files to the right. The sheets are available in the choir hall as well. Know what you need to bring and when you need to LEAVE Saturday morning-THE TIMES ARE DIFFERENT FOR AREA AND 9/10!! We are still looking for one or two more chaperones to make the trip to Waco with us. Please let us know if your parent is willing to join us!

We asked students today for information on their parents' employment. This was in reference to possibly offering "corporate" tables for the Taste of Christmas Concert in December. If you or your business/place of employment would be willing to purchase a table for the dessert dinner, please let us know. We will have prices and numbers soon.

Thank you for your support of the AMCHS Choral Program!

Let's make it a great week!

Great Concert!

Mr. Angel and Miss Davis would like to commend the performances of all six choirs on Monday night. All of our students have worked very hard and we are proud of the music you are making! Thank you also to the parents, friends, and family that came to support our program! We appreciate all your support.

Now we are starting on Christmas music in preparation for A Taste of Christmas on December 11th, 12th, and 13th. This is a dessert dinner concert, so be sure to make your reservations early! We will start taking money for this event on November 16th! I know it seems kind of early to be thinking about the holidays, but in reality we have only a little over a month to prepare music and plan the concert!
Also, we will be doing another round of sponsorships to be included in the Christmas concert program. Sponsorship money and ads need to be in by November 24th! The sponsorship letter can be downloaded to the right--->

We have 9/10 Region VOICE PART CDs (yay!) for all voice parts. The CD has the accompaniment (piano only) tracks as well as tracks with either Miss Davis or Mr. Angel singing your voice part. Get them as soon as possible so you can learn the music and be prepared for auditions NEXT Saturday! Also be sure to get your information form in so that we can register you either today or tomorrow.

Thank you for being a part of our choral program at AMCHS!

Announcements

Hello!

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather this weekend!

Tonight is our concert. Choir members need to arrive at 6PM in the Choir Hall in their uniform. For ladies this means their choir dress, black pantyhose, and FLAT black closed-toe shoes. For gentlemen this means their choir tux, vest, jacket, BLACK socks, and black dress shoes. Additionally, choir members with long hair need to have it pulled up and back out of their face. Ladies are strongly encouraged to wear eye and lip makeup at the very least. Although I know having to pull hair up and wear make-up may seem like a hassle, it is so our choir members faces' and expression can be seen from the audience without being washed out by the lights or covered up by their hair. The less distraction, the better.

We would like to remind both our choir members and our audience members that cell phones, ipods, or other noise-making devices need to be turned off and out of sight. Our choirs have been working very hard the past few weeks and need to be able to show off their accomplishments. If there are any questions about our expectations for the concert, feel free to download and read the Choir Concert Expectations document to the right.

This week we will also be working Region and Area music. 9/10 Region will rehearse Tuesday afternoon and Area will rehearse Thursday afternoon. Remember that the choir directors are available to work with individuals or small groups, just ask us and schedule a time in advance!!

This Wednesday Letter Jacket Forms are due. If your child would like a Choir Letter Jacket, have them come get a form from one of the directors.

Also, we are offering a second round of sponsorships, so if you or your student still needs to raise funds for Austria, they can continue to seek out donations from local businesses and friends. In order to be placed in the Christmas Concert Program, ads and sponsorships need to be in by November 24th (the Tuesday before Thanksgiving!)

The choir program will be sending out letters to those going on the Choir Tour to Austria. Please check over the information in those letters and help us correct anything that is wrong. Also be sure to get the first installment paid before the end of October!

Let's make it a great week!

Weekly Reminders

Today after school is a 9/10 Region Rehearsal from 4:00-5:30.

Thursday after school is an Area Rehearsal from 4-5:30.

If students would like additional help, both directors are here everyday before and after school. We can work with small groups or individuals, and we are happy to provide a CD player and practice room for independent practice. All you have to do is ask!!

Friday night EVERYONE is singing the National Anthem at the home football game. Wear your CHOIR t-shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. Come in the gate at 6:45. Tell them you are with the choir. We will sing at 7:30 and then we are done!

Our first choir concert of the school year is Monday, October 19th in the AMC Theatre. Students are to arrive, in uniform  at 6PM in the choir hall. The concert will begin at 7PM. It should be a wonderful performance! Uniform for Women is their provided choir dress, black panyhose, and FLAT black CLOSED toe shoes. Uniform for Men is their provided choir tuxedo, black socks, and black dress shoes. We also recommend that men wear a white t-shirt/undershirt underneath their tux shirt as it can get pretty warm on stage. Let us know if you have any questions about concert attire.

Students, remember it is YOUR responsibility to make up any missed work (such as singing tests) and let us know of any conflicts AHEAD of time. Pre-Approved Absence Request forms are available in the choir room.

Let's make it a wonderful week!
